Foundation A

The children have been exploring mass during mathematics. Hefting has been used to feel whether one object is heavier or lighter than another. Balance scales have also been used to find out if an object is heavier or lighter than another object. The children have been describing weight use the term heavier and lights, more mass and less mass.

In the computer lab the children have continued to learn to use Reading Eggs and Mathletics. The trickiest part of using these programs is learning to log in, both to the computer and the program that is being used. While touch screens are a regular part of our lives, developing familiarity with the keyboard is very important. Please remember to ensure that your child is making regular use of Reading Eggs and Mathletics at home. Their user names and passwords are located in the front of the children’s Reading Diaries.
